At Participation Lodge Grey Bruce, our Board of Directors is made up of dedicated community members who share a passion for empowering the individuals we support. Bringing together a wide range of skills and experiences, they provide strong leadership, uphold our mission, and help shape our future.

Eric Robertson
President

Martin Mazza
Director, Treasurer

Martin has extensive leadership experience having worked in the health care sector for more than 25 years as a financial and operational executive. His roles have included serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at nearby hospitals including Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, and Grey Bruce Health Services (now known as Brightshores Health System).
In addition to his career history, Martin's background includes considerable volunteer and governance experience where he has served as Board Chair for DeafBlind Ontario Services and the Canadian Medical Equipment Protection Plan (CMEPP). He has also been a member of the Board of Directors with My Friend's House Collingwood Crisis Centre, the Police Services Board for the Town of Blue Mountains, and Grey Bruce Hospice-Chapman House.
Martin holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, a Chartered Professional Accountant designation and he has completed the Advanced Health Leadership Program through the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Darlene Lamberti
Director
Darlene and her family moved to the area over 30 years ago. For approx. 20 years she owned and operated a risk assessment company for numerous life and disability insurance companies across North America. Wanting to become more connected to her community; approx. ten years ago, she stepped into the role of Executive Director of the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation. In addition, she served as Campaign Director for the “Together in Care” campaign, successfully leading the initiative to raise $12 million in support of the new Markdale Hospital.
Now, in her retirement, Darlene can be found spending time with her husband, her 3 daughters, and her grandchildren.
Lance Lehman
Director

Lance Lehman is a resident of Flesherton where he has lived with his family for 14 years. As a practicing lawyer for 25 years, Lance advises businesses in commercial matters and provides estate planning advice for individuals. He is an avid skier, traveller, and music-lover. As a member of the Board of Participation Lodge Grey Bruce, Lance is committed to providing responsible oversight and ensuring the highest standards of care are observed at the Lodge, while the interests and rights of both residents and employees are protected and upheld.

Willard Vanderploeg
Director, Secretary
One of our directors, Willard works as Charitable Giving Advisor for Brightshores Health System Foundations in Markdale, Meaford, Owen Sound, Southampton, Wiarton and Lion’s Head. He promotes legacy giving and assists donors in planning will requests and other special gifts to charity. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the charitable sector, estate and gift planning. He is a long time member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. Willard is an avid road and gravel cyclist and collects antique clocks. He and his wife Ingrid live, work and play in Owen Sound.
Joan Ruston Berge
Director
Joan is a Registered Nurse with more than 25 years of leadership experience in hospital management, overseeing a wide range of clinical programs and multidisciplinary teams. Throughout her career, she has provided leadership in critical care, regional stroke services, rehabilitation, diabetes education, and respiratory services, with a strong commitment to improving patient care and health outcomes.
As the parent of an adult son with special needs, Joan brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her advocacy work. She has been actively involved in promoting inclusive education and advancing opportunities for meaningful community participation for individuals living with disabilities. Her passion for inclusion, accessibility, and person-centered support aligns closely with the mission and values of Participation Lodge Grey Bruce.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys travelling, golfing, curling, hiking, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
